feel free to fast forward to 2:00 so you can watch the whole video during the class period Students will design and build a docking station for all the items they want to store in a designated place (some common items that are located on docking stations are cell phones, rings, watches, pens, wallet etc.) Students can design this project for themselves for someone else.
Students will use data they collected from the catapult and trebuchet simulator to design their own catapult or trebuchet that can launch a tennis ball as far as possible. Students will have 2 days to plan, 4 days to build and 1 day to test. Their catapult or trebuchet will be graded along with their documentation of their design process. Students will work in groups of 2. Due November 6th or 8th. Students. will create a spreadsheet (similar to the the trebuchet spreadsheet) to test at least 3 different variables in catapults. Students were given a challenge to create a structure that can hold as many books as possible using only computer paper and masking tape.
