​MAKERSPACE SURVEY

Welcome to Tech Exploratory or as I prefer to call it STEM  class. My name is Carolyn LaRosa.  I look forward to working with all my students as we learn and investigate new concepts with hands on projects and problem solving skills

​To see what we are doing in class and what there is for Homework, please click on your grade's link below.  ALL GRADES WILL BE POSTED TO POWERSCHOOL, so please check frequently for an up-to-date grade.​Students who miss my class for any reason are required to check my website or check in with me before the following class to catch themselves up on what they missed.  Missing class is not an excuse for not having work complete that was assigned the day you missed!

Furthermore, Safety is very important in my classroom.  We go over the safety before we start working on projects.  I will send home another sheet of safety rules that has to be signed and returned to class before students are allowed to work in the lab.  A quiz will soon follow to make sure students know and understand the basic safety rules.

​In 6th grade students investigate how energy works and the different types of non renewable and renewable energy.

In 8th grade students use wood working skills to create their own projects focused on the investigation of motion and simple machines.

Grade 7 

In 7th grade students investigate topics involving architecture and civil engineering.  Students culminating project will be designing and testing a scale model of a bridge.

Automation and Robotics

In 8th Grade Automation and Robotics students will being using VEX EDR kits to design and build mechanisms to solve given problems or complete a certain task.  Students will also use ROBOT C programming software to program some of their designs to complete given challenges.
