Students are designing and creating their own CO2 car, which they will race at the end of the trimester.
Students created their own customized CO2 car wheels that will be printed and put on their own CO2 car.
Today, students were assigned a take home project where they have to create a chain reaction of events. The project description and rubric are located below. Students can choose to work by themselves or with one other person. If you are working by yourself you need to use at least 3 different simple machines and the chain reaction has to have at least 5 separate steps. If you are working with a partner, the pair needs to use at least 5 different simple machines and the chain reaction has to have at least 8 separate steps. Each project should be submitted as a video (on flash drive or emailed to Mrs. LaRosa) and a labeled picture of the Rube Goldberg with written description of simple machines used and steps. Students set up a series of demonstrations in class to see how each different simple machine works. Then each student records what they observe and answers some questions about what they learned.
