My copy of the study guide will be displayed the day before the quiz on this website. The link and powerpoints in the last posting are also helpful.  I also create a short

How to build model bridge

5/9/2019

Students start brainstorming different bridge designs.  Before students can start building they need to watch the demo of how to build a bridge and read the rules below.  Please complete the "questionnaire (link below) so Mrs. LaRosa know you know all the rules.
Additional Bridge Building rules
Easy cutters
 - only the bass wood sticks should be cut with the easy cutters, cutting anything else could damage the easy cutter
- There is a screw on the easy cutters that keeps them closed when they are not being used.  Do not force the easy cutters open, rotate the screw to open the easy cutters
- Make sure the easy cutters are clean when you put them away.  When glue drys it is hard to remove it
Wood Glue bottles
- if the bottle is clogged DO NOT cut the top, either gently use a tack to help remove the dried glue or ask Mrs. LaRosa for help
- put cap on glue bottle before putting it away
Tacks
- Please put any rusty tacks in sharps bin
- If you get pricked by a tack please bring the tack to Mrs. LaRosa and also show Mrs. LaRosa the injury

****Finally when gluing make sure the wood pieces are touching each other and the glue is located between the wood pieces.  Making a light be secure connection between all joints will lead to a more successful bridge
